Chiringuito Blue Ibiza

Chiringuito Blue Ibiza

The vibrant dining experience at Santa Eulalia Bay.

Take a trip to the east side of the island, around a 20-minute drive from Ibiza Town and you will find up and coming Santa Eulalia, Ibiza’s third largest resort. With a fortified 16th century church, Puig de Missa, on the hill overlooking the town, a river-walk and a beautiful yacht marina and excellent choice of shops, Santa Eulalia offers the perfect balance between authenticity and modernity. The municipality also includes delightful inland villages such as Santa Gertrudis and Sant Carles as well as the only golf course on the island.

This family-friendly destination is not only known for its calm, authentic island vibes and beautiful beaches, but also it’s thriving foodie and bar scene. Located on Santa Eulalia beach, a charming Mediterranean bay known for its pristine, shallow waters, long promenade and stunning views of Formentera, Chiringuito Blue is a relaxed beach restaurant where the east of the Mediterranean meets Ibiza. This favourite for both visitors and locals alike delights its guests with an impressive menu of pure and honest Mediterranean-inspired food, by the sea.

Perched on the southern tip of Santa Eulalia’s tranquil promenade, Chiringuito Blue offers an open and welcoming beachside dining space, with spectacular unobstructed views of the ocean, casually-cool vibes and low-key Ibiza beats. Attracting a cosmopolitan, free-spirited crowd, it is also ideal for families. With designated kids areas and proximity to the sand, the restaurant provides entertainment and relaxation for all, from midday to midnight.

The menu is curated by celebrity chef Haim Cohen and centres around the philosophy of Eastern delight meets Ibicenco charm, taking diners on a gastronomic journey of flavours from the east of the Mediterranean to Ibiza. With a focus on local, seasonal and fresh produce, the restaurant sources from the island’s huertos and surrounding sea. This emphasis on organic produce from the island is a testament to their passion for ensuring they pay close attention to their eco-credentials, delivering a sustainable concept and menu. The team believe in food that is good for the soul and good for the planet. They are deeply inspired by the sun and you can savour it in their unique selection of sun-kissed vegetables. Proud to collaborate with Ibiza’s largest certified organic farm, Chiringuito Blue’s vegetable garden is located at a breathtaking spot in Santa Eulalia. They let nature

decide what we eat celebrating the seasons with evolving menus. Their garden is a magnificent source of inspiration where everything thrives under the sun. They cultivate vegetables and herbs with passion – and that energy permeates the restaurant.

Dining at Chiringuito Blue is a relaxed, social affair and this is reflected in the selection of starters and sharing dishes such as ‘Warm chickpeas, tahini and grated tomato’, ‘Yellowtail sashimi, tomato seeds, lemon, olive oil, coriander’, or the always- popular ‘Creamy soft Iberican Joselito Ham croquettes.’ Every dish is crafted with quality fresh produce fused with a perfect blend of fresh herbs and spices. With special varieties of fresh fish and select seafood, the diverse menu offers something for everyone with plenty of healthy, vegetarian and vegan options.

When it comes to mains, the star of the show has to be the phenomenal fish dishes that fill your mouth with a taste of the ocean beyond. Be sure to ask what the ‘Grilled catch of the day’ is or perhaps indulge in the ‘Mezzi paccheri pasta with calamari and Sicilian cherry tomato’. When it comes to meat, the ‘Charcoal grilled whole free range chicken with sage and lemon’ sings with summer flavour and the home-crafted ‘Blue Burger’ is sure to make your mouth water.   The extensive drinks menu includes a vast and comprehensive wine list sourced from around the world, as well as a dazzling list of cocktails using the finest spirits and homemade syrups.

Desserts are without doubt one of the finest features of the restaurant with original signature dishes such as the dreamy and somewhat indulgent ‘Chocolate Tartlette’ made with Valrhona Guanaja, 70% dark chocolate, hazelnut, olive oil ice cream and salt flower, vegan-friendly, lactose-free and with the possibility of ordering it gluten-free too. Other options include the fragrant ‘Lavender Frozen Yogurt’ or typically eastern ‘Basbusa’.

Chiringuito Blue is a fantastic place to enjoy a drink as an après-beach treat while the sun goes down. Evening meals at the restaurant, under the stars are the perfect way to end the day. Every Thursday evening throughout the summer brings ‘Jueves Blue’ a soirée of dinner, cocktails and musical talent, with a different artist every week.

Families are well catered for at Chiringuito Blue, with your little guests welcomed and entertained by one of the island’s premier child-minding service companies every day. The tasty homemade dishes from the Kids Menu together with lots of games on the beach, face painting and crafts keep the little ones happy while the grown-ups relax on the shaded sofa.

For your more casual snacks and tipples, the promenade kiosk offers coffee, soft drinks, tempting pastries and other healthy snacks to take away; perfect for those in a hurry or those who’d like to treat themselves to a tasty picnic on the sand or at the Chiringuito Blue beach club area, where you’ll find sun beds aplenty. Lunch and evening meals are served à la carte from 12:30 to 23:00h at the restaurant tables and throughout the summer, food and bar service can be ordered direct to your sun bed, so you can chill out and let the team take care of you! Team all this with Chiringuito Blue’s location and valet parking and you are guaranteed to enjoy an unwinding experience from beginning to end. Chiringuito Blue is a place to share and celebrate the simple pleasures of life around the table uniting families and friends. It is a space where people connect and celebrate in a vibrant dining experience with local produce and global influences.

Chiringuito Blue was created for celebrating and offer private hire, whether it be for an intimate affair, a family reunion or wedding extravaganza. Whatever the occasion, the team will make it unique and memorable, taking care of everything.

As part of the restaurant’s connection to local environmental organisations and events, Chiringuito Blue collaborates closely with Ibiza Preservation Foundation which works to preserve Ibiza and Formentera’s unique environment and cultural heritage. They address several issues impacting the islands wellbeing including tourism, land use, water, energy, waste, biodiversity and transport.

Chiringuito Blue is working towards being totally plastic-free, currently using 100% recyclable plastic and bio-degradable straws. The restaurant also organises regular beach clean-ups to raise awareness of the importance of reducing waste.

Chiringuito Blue is part of the new W Ibiza (W Hotels Worldwide – Mariott International), and as you would come to expect from this iconic and world class brand, the service you receive is second to none, with every team member highly trained and passionate about their role, customer service and the cuisine they present.

The restaurant building was designed by architecture studio Baranowitz + Kronenberg. Founded in 1999 and based between Tel Aviv and Amsterdam, the studio works internationally in both private and public sectors. The talented architects and designers’ portfolio includes five-star W Amsterdam hotel linking two historical buildings, interiors of Sir Joan Hotel in Ibiza and award-winning restaurants such as Topolopompo and Pastel Brasserie in Tel Aviv.

The studio maintains culture at the forefront of each project and focuses on a narrative to reflect the brands’ DNA through the design. As a result, inspiration from the landscape of Santa Eulalia is echoed in the casual but detailed design of Chiringuito Blue. The aesthetic of the beachside restaurant offers a laid-back and calm space using touches of bright colours throughout.

Spotlight on Haim Cohen, Menu Curator at Chiringuito Blue

Chiringuito Blue is proud to call the award winning chef Haim Cohen (1960, Tel Aviv), an integral part of their dynamic team and the curator of their innovative menu. As one of Israel’s top chefs and TV personalities, Cohen has been the leading judge on Israeli MasterChef for the past eight years and is one of the most respected chefs on Tel Aviv’s culinary scene. He opened his first restaurant, Keren, in 1985 serving nouvelle cuisine and currently has two leading restaurants in Tel Aviv: Dixie Grill Bar, a steakhouse opened in 1994, and Yaffo-Tel Aviv, opened in 2011, where his experience and personal taste come together. The chef is also culinary advisor to a number of high-end restaurants worldwide, including The Duchess in Amsterdam (awarded a Michelin star in 2017).

Cohen’s love of Mediterranean cuisine brought him to the white isle where he curates the menu of Chiringuito Blue offering a unique concept. Here he can express his passion, bringing flavours from the eastern shores of the Mediterranean to Ibiza while focussing on fresh, local produce. The emphasis is on the quality of ingredients and highlights the rich legacy of Israeli flavours with influences from Greece, Turkey and Italy. Honest and pure food that provides a joyful experience bringing diverse people and cultures together.
