Brighton Water Shoes: Sole-ly the Best
Brighton, the vibrant seaside city known for its Pier, Pavilion, roll up-smoking locals (and incredibly painful beach pebbles), is home to a new line of Water Shoes that are sure to make a splash. Designed by local swimmer-entrepreneur Emily Prideaux, the Brighton Water Shoes are sourced and designed in the city, and form the perfect combination of style and function. In sum, the Water Shoes help Brightonians and beyond to get in the sea without too much bust on their feet.
The sole of the shoe is not too thin, so it can withstand the pebbles on the beach, but not too thick, so it won’t weigh you down when swimming. The colours of the shoes are all inspired by Brighton Beach – Sunburst Yellow and Lifebuoy Orange – and more colours will soon follow. Currently, the shoes come in adult sizes and kids sizes will be available in the spring. Even the logo reflects Brighton: not only does it echo the vintage font of our Pier, but Emily also had in mind a sunset on the beloved South Downs.
The upper of the shoe is made of a stretchy neoprene material, meaning they are easy to get on and off. Importantly, they stay on when you swim and are quick drying when out of the water. They are extremely lightweight and made to the highest quality. The breathable mesh storage bag they come in keeps your shoes together and dryable when they’ve been put away, too.
